大家來一邊看故事，一邊做善事啦！

When I was small, I would tell my mom, “Mom, let’s donate to the people who need money!” Then we would donate through paychecks, online websites, etc... At that time, I was too small to realize that all ‘my’ money came from my parents, but it didn’t matter… did it?

Now that I have grown up, I have been reading more news, and I have found more people who are suffering, and it made me want to help them. Therefore, I told my mom that I wanted to donate money from my scholarships this year, and especially for children, as I thought that every child should have a chance to be educated and have a good life. My mom was quite astounded and happy at the same time. She brought up the Ronald McDonald House Charities Hong Kong (RMCH Hong Kong).

RMCH Hong Kong is an independent entity and a locally registered charity with tax exemption. It provides a temporary hostel for the parents of the cancer patients, so that they don’t need to travel far away to visit their kids every day. I was inspired by a program of RMCH Hong Kong called ‘host a fundraiser’----using your own idea to organize a charity event for donation. I saw many people who put their banners or messages on the website of RMCH Hong Kong, and they were all just ordinary people who had held charities online, with their own idea. It amazed me and inspired me to write my first book for fundraising. Still, I hesitated for a while as it was such a big project! I soon realized that this was by far more meaningful than just donating money. I hoped and decided that I would be one of those kind-hearted people. I finally took my big step to make this meaningful event come true. Finally, I accomplished this feat with assistance from my cousin and parents. The story book has been published as well as the electronic version.

I hope it can inspire more people to hold or take part in charity events!

從來，我以爲做善事只有兩個方法------直接捐款和賣旗。我會對媽媽說：「媽媽，我們捐錢給有需要的人吧！」 我一直沒有意識到「我」的錢都是從父母手中給的，但沒關係……是嗎？

社會上太多受苦的人，一天，我告訴媽媽想把今年部分的獎學金捐出去，特別是給孩子們，因為我認為每個孩子都應該有機會接受教育，過上美好的生活。當時媽媽很驚訝，也很高興。她提出了麥當勞叔叔之家。

麥當勞叔叔之家是當地註冊的免稅慈善機構，為癌症患者的父母提供臨時宿舍，讓他們無需每天長途跋涉探望孩子。我寫故事書來籌款的靈感是來自麥當勞叔叔之家網頁裏一項名為「成爲籌款者」的計劃——用自己的想法組織一場慈善活動以進行捐贈。我看到很多籌款者把海報貼在麥當勞叔叔之家的網站上，他們都是普通人，他們利用自己的想法，成功在網上舉辦了慈善活動。這讓我很驚訝，我想我可以寫我的第一本書來籌款。但我猶豫了一會兒，因為這是一個大項目！我很快意識到這遠比捐錢更有意義。我希望我能成為那些善良的人中的一員。我終於邁出了一大步，使這個有意義的事件成為現實。最後，我在表姐和父母的幫助下做到了。故事書和電子版已經出版。

我希望它能激勵更多人，每個人都有潛力舉辦或參與慈善活動！
