Thanks a bunch to everyone who’s donated to RMHCHK. Let’s keep spreading the word to our relatives and friends and keep the donations coming! The QR Code has the link to the official RMHCHK website donation page for easy sharing. Pina Lui and Daniel Leung are back at it again! They’re shaving their heads for the fourth time in a row to raise money for Shave with Love. If you’re feeling brave and want to join them as a Brightheader, just send an email to osuachk@gmail.com! Guess what? We’ve got some amazing volunteers lined up for our event! We’ve invited a master of ceremonies, a musician, a photographer, and a face-paint artist to lend their skills. And get this, we’ve got a team of enthusiastic students from King George V School and another group of primary school students who’ll be setting up art and craft, game, and fun booths to keep the little ones entertained at RMHCHK Kwun Tong House. According to the United Nations World Health Organization, approximately 400,000 children and adolescents aged 0–19 years old are diagnosed with cancer annually. In Hong Kong alone, there are around 180 children diagnosed with cancer each year. During their medical treatment, these children often experience hair loss as a side effect of chemotherapy. Additionally, other diseases like endocrine and immune system disorders can also cause hair loss in sick children, which can have a detrimental impact on their self-confidence and psychological development.

On May 3rd Saturday, 2025, the Ohio State University Alumni Club of Hong Kong (OSUACHK) will organize its fourth annual “Shave with Love” charity event. We will bring together volunteers who are willing to shave their heads (“Brightheaders”) to raise awareness and support for sick children. By participating in this event, Brightheaders will not only experience hair loss firsthand but also have the opportunity to express their care and compassion for these children. Furthermore, they can use this platform to educate others about the significance of the event and the challenges faced by sick children and their families. All funds raised from “Shave with Love” will be donated to charities that provide support and resources to help sick children and their families cope with the struggles of childhood cancer and other diseases.

OSUACHK is thrilled to announce that we will collaborate with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Hong Kong again this year for our fundraising efforts.  RMHC will host us at their new Kwun Tong House facility. In addition to head-shaving, we will also organize activities to engage with the children and families who reside at the House.

“Shave with Love” is currently seeking volunteers and Brightheaders to participate in our “Shave with Love” fund-raising event. If you are interested, please send us a private message or email us at osuachk@gmail.com before April 4th, which is Children’s Day.

「與光‧童行 Shave with Love 2025」活動、麥當勞叔叔兒童之家官方捐款連結:

根據聯合國世界衛生組織報告，全球每年約有四十萬位0至19歲的小童及少年患上癌症，當中香港平均每年有一百八十名年輕癌症新個案。在治療期間，病童會因為化療的副作用引致脫髮。其它疾病如內分泌及免疫系統失調等亦會引至病童脫髮，繼而影響病童的自信心及心理發展。

俄亥俄州立大學香港校友會(OSUACHK)將於2025年5月3日星期六下午二時三十分，第四度舉辦「與光‧童行 Shave with Love 2025」剃頭籌款活動，由被剃髮者(Brightheader)向親友募捐。除籌款外，Brightheader也能藉此活動表達對患病兒童的關懷，與他們一起經歷脫髮後的感受；同時亦可向身邊人解釋此活動背後的意義，令更多人關注病患兒童，好使他們及他們的家人得到更多支援。活動所籌得的善款將全數撥捐慈善機構，以協助病童及其家人對抗兒童癌病及其他疾病的各種挑戰。

今年OSUACHK 將會繼續為麥當勞叔叔兒童之家(RMHC)籌款，活動將於RMHC的觀塘家社(觀塘有信街2號)進行。剃頭活動外，我們亦會籌備多樣活動，與住院院友及照顧他們的家長共渡一個愉快的下午。

招募Brightheader 及活動義工行動現在開始！有意成為Brightheader及義工的朋友，請於四月四日(兒童節)或之前PM 或電郵至 osuachk@gmail.com 報名。報名截止後，OSUACHK會於校友會社交平台公佈Brightheader名單。有意贊助Brightheader之校友及親友可聯絡Brightheader或相熟校友會委員了解捐款詳情，亦可PM/Email 向校友會查詢。稍後RMHC亦會提供捐款網址方便各位善長於網上捐款。凡捐款港幣一百元或以上可於網頁要求寄發正式收據以作在香港申請稅項扣除。「與光‧童行 Shave with Love 2025」剃頭籌款活動定於5月3日(週六)下午舉行。期待各位踴躍參與！
