利是捐贈 為病童及家人送上摰誠祝福 Donate red packets and bring blessings to others
農曆新年本應是一家團聚，共享天倫的日子。但對於暫住在麥當勞叔叔之家的家庭來說，在這歡樂氣氛的節日裡，仍須經常出入醫院，務求讓患病的孩子可以盡快康復，往後健康快樂地成長。
我們一向持守「家庭為本」的理念，透過位於沙田及在觀塘新落成的家舍，為患重病的兒童及其家庭提供「家以外的家」，讓病童在接受治療期間，有家人陪伴，緊靠一起。除了為病童家庭提供臨時家園外，我們亦提供適切的社交心理支援服務，與家庭分擔因孩子患病而帶來的壓力與負擔。
患上急性T淋巴細胞白血病的致遠，體內的白血球比正常小朋友高十倍，正接受為期125周的療程。療程用藥量比一般白血病更為重劑量，致遠更因為不時發燒，需要立即入院就醫。由於病情緣故，致遠及媽媽需要每日穿梭醫院與家中，路途遙遠且疲乏。後來在醫務社工協助下，獲安排入住觀塘麥當勞叔叔之家，方便前往兒童醫院覆診。
康復之路雖然漫長，但並不孤單。致遠媽媽感恩能夠得到善長的贊助入住家舍，並認識到不少際遇相似的「同路人」。「其實我哋已經得到好多嘢，好在有啲爸爸媽媽一齊，大家可以好好照顧大家。我都同自己講，當係自己上咗一課，或者係上天畀時間我，要好好同佢相處、陪伴佢。」麥當勞叔叔之家在康復路上一直為患重病的兒童及其家庭提供一所滿載關懷﹑支援及互助的「家以外的家」。

Lunar New Year is a family celebration, an important occasion for families to get together. However, this is not the case for the families who stay at Ronald McDonald House. The caregivers’ routine of taking their ill children for medical treatments does not break during festive seasons. Their children’s health and well-being always take priority over other matters.
With the mission of “keeping families close”, RMHC Hong Kong provides a “home away from home” accommodation for families with children who are ill or injured. Families staying at our two Ronald McDonald Houses, Shatin and Kwun Tong, are grateful for the space and support from our “Family-Centered Care” services, which help them relieve their stress and anxiety.
Diagnosed with acute T-cell lymphoblastic leukemia, Leo has to undergo a 125-week treatment. The dosage of medication used in his treatment is higher than that of typical leukemia. As a result, he has to be constantly admitted to the hospital due to recurrent fever. The frequent commute to the hospital is a long and tiring journey for Leo and his mother. Subsequently, with the help of the medical social worker, both of them were arranged to stay at Ronald McDonald House (RMH) in Kwun Tong which has made commuting easier.
The road to recovery might be long but never alone. Leo’s mother is grateful for all the help they receive at RMH. At the same time, she is also thankful for the opportunity to meet families having the same experience as hers which give her comfort and support. “I never feel lack at RMHC. It’s been great there are parents supporting parents here. This experience teaches me how to take good care of Leo and allows me to spend more time with him,” concludes Leo’s mother.
