活動介紹 Introduction

#與光童行 #ShaveWithLove

香港每年約有一百八十名兒童患上癌症，在治療期間，病童會因為化療的副作用引致脫髮。其它疾病如內分泌及免疫系統失調等亦會引至病童脫髮，繼而影響病童的自信心及心理發展。俄亥俄州立大學香港校友會(OSUACHK)及東華三院李潤田紀念中學校友會(LCDMCAA)再度合作，舉辦「與光‧童行 Shave with Love 2024」剃頭籌款活動，由被剃髮者(Brightheader)向親友募捐。除籌款外，Brightheader也能藉此活動表達對患病兒童的關懷，與他們一起經歷脫髮後的感受；同時亦可向身邊人解釋此活動背後的意義，令更多人關注病患兒童，好使他們及他們的家人得到更多支援。活動所籌得的善款將全數撥捐慈善機構，以協助病童及其家人對抗兒童癌病及其他疾病的各種挑戰。   

招募Brightheader 行動現在開始！有意成為Brightheader的朋友，請於四月四日(兒童節)或之前PM 或電郵至 osuachk@gmail.com 報名。

「與光‧童行 Shave with Love 2024」剃頭籌款活動定於4月20日(週六)下午三時，假座金鐘亞洲協會香港中心空中花園舉行。本次活動受惠慈善機構為香港麥當勞叔叔之家。期待各位踴躍參與！

There are approximately 180 children diagnosed with cancer every year in Hong Kong. During their medical treatment, they will suffer from hair loss as a side effect of chemotherapy.  Other diseases such as endocrine and immune system disorders can also cause hair loss in sick children, which can have a negative impact on their self-confidence as well as their psychological development. The Ohio State University Alumni Club of Hong Kong (OSUACHK) and TWGHs Lee Ching Dee Memorial College Alumni Association (LCDMCAA)(the “Organizers”), will again organizing “Shave with Love”, a head-shaving charity event (the “Event”). 

In addition to fund-raising, the volunteers who offer to shave their heads ("Brightheaders") can also use this event to express their care for sick children and experience hair loss with them. At the same time, Brightheaderst can also explain the meaning behind this event to people around them, so that more people can pay attention to sick children and receive more support. All funds raised from this event will be donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities Hong Kong to help sick children and their families fight the challenges of childhood cancer and other diseases.

Recruitment of Brightheaders is now open! You are cordially invited to be a participant. Interested parties may PM us or email to osuachk@gmail.com before April 4th (Children’s Day)  

The Event is scheduled on Saturday April 20th 3PM at Asia Society Hong Kong Center Roof Garden.  We are looking forward to seeing you!

Sai Kung Stingrays Joining 'Shave with Love 2024'!

Hip-Hip Hooray!  We are excited to announce that Sai Kung Stingrays, the athletes club famous for their family-oriented rugby and netball teams catering kids and teenagers from U5~U19, is going to join "Shave with Love 2024" and support RMHCHK!  Stingrays will host their own fund-raising session at their End of Year Party on Sunday May 5th.

病患孩子的康復，有賴家人的照顧和支持！香港麥當勞叔叔之家慈善基金不能改變藥物的苦澀味道，不能除去治療的痛楚，卻能減輕苦困過程的壓力和負擔。

香港麥當勞叔叔之家，是一個「以愛心所建」的家，專為在醫院接受治療的頑疾兒童及其家庭而設。在這個滿載溫暖和支持的家裡，父母可以全心全意照顧身虛體弱的孩子；在這個家裡，孩子可以隨時隨地倚傍在父母的褓抱提攜之中。一個小小的家，不單為病患孩子及其家人提供了一個休息和得力的地方，更重要的是加深了孩子與父母之間的連繫。愉快的心境是保持健康體魄的要素，因此我們確信，家人的陪伴是孩子康復的其中一個藥方。

It’s something we see every day – children healing because they’re surrounded by their families. And while Ronald McDonald House Charities® Hong Kong may not be able to make the medicine taste better or erase the pain of a much-needed treatment, we can help lessen the burden.

Ronald McDonald House® has been making children happier and healthier by keeping their families together – giving them a place to rest and refresh. It is a place that feels like home for families with terminally and chronically ill children who are undergoing treatment at the hospital. By offering a supportive environment, parents are able to care for their sick children wholeheartedly during this incredibly stressful time.
